Paris-based Shippeo secures €20 million to expand it's real-time transport visibility platform for the freight industry in Series B round, led by NGP Capital and ETF Partners with participation from Bpifrance Digital Ventures and Partech.
The capital will be used to further develop the Shippeo real-time transport visibility platform and drive expansion in Europe.
Founded in 2014 by Pierre Khoury (co-founder & CEO) and Lucien Besse (co-founder & COO), Shippeo helps leading Supply Chains leverage real time tracking analytics, and currently tracks more than 3 million loads per year throughout Europe. Shippeo's client list includes market-leading customers such as Faurecia, Intermarché, Leroy Merlin, and Saint-Gobain, and connects to carriers in more than 20 countries.
Its real-time transport visibility platform provides shippers, carriers and logistics providers with instant tracking, and predictive ETAs for every delivery, allowing customers to quickly anticipate problems and efficiently manage exceptions to mitigate the impact of these.
A current analysis of the logistics and supply chain industry reveals it is highly fragmented with approximately 600,000 road freight companies operating in Europe with the top 20 companies holding about 12% market share. The industry is currently plagued with outdated tracking and visibility technology and lagging efficiencies.
Shippeo strives to add measurable value to it's customers becoming a long-term partner, deeply integrating it's platform and processes to provide as much value as possible. Understanding the key pain points of their customers is a core focus, and by growing with their customers allows Shippeo to earn customer trust. As as validation of their approach, Shippeo experienced a 0% customer churn rate in 2019.
In a statement by NGP Capital "Together with new investors ETF Partners and Bpifrance, and existing investors Partech, Frst, and SAP.io, we are looking forward to supporting Pierre Khoury, Lucien Besse, and the team at Shippeo on their journey to automate supply chains".
